Thor (Fall 1993? - ??) was an IBM RS/6000 POWERStation model 320H with 1 Gigabyte of disk space and 32 Megabytes of RAM[1]. It ran AIX/6000 3.2.5 with many local modifications and additions. Thor handled DNS, e-mail, and at some point in time, file serving. Around 1997 it was one of the central workstations in the lab, though most preferred to use the Indys or one of the Linux boxen[2]. One of its HDs died and we were not able to repair it. Since it too was getting old, all of its duties were moved to other servers. Thor existed in the lab at least for the 1996-1997 school year, and was retired from the lab sometime before 2002.[3]
