OSX Proxy Documentation

Warning Remote access is no longer available by proxy. At this time, only the databases listed here in Italics can be accessed off-campus. Some may require a username/password which is noted beside the database on that page. We hope to restore remote access for all.

Prerequisites

NOTE: You MUST have done the following before you can set up your TJ Proxy

  1. Log in at a TJHSST-provided Windows Computer (Laptop or Desktop)


Configure Proxy

Follow the screenshots below to configure your proxy on Mac OS X:

  1. Open 'System Preferences'

  3. Click on 'Network'
  4. Click on 'Advanced'

  6. Choose the 'Proxies' tab
  7. Select 'Automatic Proxy Configuration'
  8. Enter https://pac.tjhsst.edu/
  9. Click 'OK'

Test It Out

Note: You MUST use the database links provided at https://sites.google.com/view/tjlibraryresources/ejournals-databases

  1. Navigate to https://sites.google.com/view/tjlibraryresources/ejournals-databases
  2. Macos databases.png

  3. Select the 'Access Science' database
  4. Enter your username and password. The format is <graduating year><first initial><first seven letters of last name>

  6. You should see a page like this, which states that you have successfully authenticated to the database through TJ.
