Significant contributions to the lab

  • Helped to bring about high availability, non-salvaging AFS on Dulles and Seatac (winter 2008-09)
  • Documentation for lots of these other contributions :) (mostly summer 2008)
  • Configured an IPSec VPN server using racoon and ipsec-tools on Linux compatible with the Sun Ray 2 built-in VPN client (summer 2008)
  • Co-authored the 2007-08 school year Richard Slivoskey SGA grant for building multimedia (or "music") carts (2007-08)
  • Established a stable enterprise-class Sun Ray infrastructure (2008) using equipment from the Sun grant (Q2FY08)
  • Primary author of the Sun grant (Q2FY08) (winter 2007-08)
  • Piloted migration to integrated (with Windows) authentication scheme (spring 2006)
  • Implemented LDAP (Sun Directory Server) as the permanent name services solution (spring 2006, winter 2007-08)
  • Discovered the Cyclades TS800 network terminal server and implemented it for use initially with the Sun servers (circa 2006)
  • Discovered the existence of iLO on the first batch of HP servers and subsequently initiated use of them (servers had already been installed for a considerable amount of time)
