Forwarding your TJ Email
This guide will help you setup server-side email forwarding for your TJHSST email account using managesieve. This filter will automatically keep a copy of your emails in your TJHSST inbox as a backup. Important: for any replies to emails to appear sent from your tjhsst.edu email, you must send them from the webmail.tjhsst.edu interface. If you reply to forwarded emails your email address will appear sent from your forwarded-to email address.
Setting up Forwarding
To setup forwarding with managesieve, log into TJHSST Webmail using your TJHSST Username and Password. In the upper-right corner, click on Settings, then in the leftmost column, select Filters. Two additional columns will appear, called Filter Sets and Filters. The Filter Sets column should already be populated with a default set called managesieve. Click on the + at the bottom of the Filters column to add a new Filter.
For the filter, specify a name (we recommend something like Forward TJ Email), set it to apply to all messages, choose the action Send message copy to, and then enter the email address you would like to forward your emails to. If you would like to forward the messages to more than one location, click on the + sign at the end of the action line to add another action. When you are done, click on the Save button.
Please note that you CANNOT forward your TJHSST email to your fcpsschools.net address. fcpsschools.net is a walled garden system and external emails (including tjhsst.edu addresses) cannot send or receive from those accounts.
You should now test your new filter by sending a test email to yourself. If your filter is working correctly, you should receive a copy of your test message in the inbox of the account you specified above.
