Console was a server residing in the CSL Machine Room, and provided a serial line console interface to numerous other servers in the CSL via the conserver program suite. It also had a dial-up connection to the outside world, making it possible to 'dial-in'to console even if the school's main internet connection is severed. The serial card in Console died, and was never replaced. Console was taken out of the Machine Room in January of 2008
